FORWD – INSPIRING THROUGH COMMUNITY & SHARED GOALS
Role: Lead UX/UI Designer & Brand Strategist
Forwd is a goal-oriented social platform designed to inspire users to pursue and accomplish their biggest dreams by fostering meaningful motivation and human connection. The platform encourages users to share goals, personal stories, and support each other through interactive features, creating a community built on encouragement and achievement.
Design Challenge: How can design harness the power of community and social interaction to motivate individuals toward goal completion? The challenge was to create an experience that blends empathy, storytelling, and data-driven insights to make goal-setting both inspiring and actionable.
PROCESS
I began by researching the psychology of motivation, the power of storytelling, and the role of empathy in user engagement. I analyzed social platforms to understand how community features and encouragement drive sustained behavior and participation. Using these insights, I developed user personas and mapped their journeys to identify pain points such as isolation and difficulty tracking progress.
From there, I designed a clear, intuitive UX flow that simplifies posting goals, sharing stories, and engaging through follows, comments, and “Cheers.” I created responsive web designs to ensure seamless access across devices, alongside a cohesive brand and visual system that reflects positivity and momentum. Custom data visualizations and analytics highlight progress and celebrate achievements, reinforcing motivation. User testing helped refine the experience, balancing inspiration with usability to build a supportive, community-driven platform.
Forwd allows users to categorize their goals as Upcoming, In Progress, or Completed, and share personal stories to foster deeper connections. Social features such as follows, comments, “Cheers,” and community discovery enable users to encourage each other, creating an ecosystem of shared motivation and accountability.
IMPACT
Forwd was designed to be more than just a platform—it’s a space where design meets human experience to drive lasting impact. By integrating social connection with goal tracking, Forwd empowers users to stay motivated, celebrate progress, and build supportive communities that inspire real-world achievement.
