DISPLAYING HIS INFLUENCES
This infographic explores the influence and design philosophy of renowned graphic designer Bruce Mau. Inspired by Mau’s conviction that design can solve the world’s most urgent challenges, the piece visually communicates the collaborative thinking process that underpins his work, focusing on six distinct design directions that reflect his innovative approach.
The infographic was developed through a deep research phase, where I analyzed Mau’s body of work, writings, and interviews to extract key principles that define his methodology. From there, I carefully organized the information into a clear narrative structure, prioritizing readability, hierarchy, and visual flow.
Design decisions were made to echo Mau’s minimalist yet bold aesthetic: a clean layout, strategic use of negative space, and a restrained color palette that draws attention to critical ideas. Graphic elements such as icons, flow lines, and section dividers guide the viewer through the six principles, reinforcing the concept of interconnected thinking. Every design choice—from typography to composition—was made to enhance clarity while embodying the spirit of thoughtful, world-changing design that Bruce Mau advocates.
